Great audio drives multimedia shows. Bad audio drives people to other websites. National Public Radio’s Jacki Lyden will talk about what it takes to get great sound. The two-part workshop is an introduction to the hardware, software & skills required to gather & edit compelling, storytelling sound to accompany your images. We will look at options for recorders & microphones & learn the basics of editing sound. In addition, the workshop will focus on techniques & methods for gathering great sound.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Chris Usher graduated from Indiana University at Bloomington with a degree in Journalism. Usher spent several years as a newspaper photographer, (Troy Daily News; Richmond Palladium Item; Louisville Courier Journal; Miami Herald; Orlando Sentinel ) before going freelance and moving to Washington, DC in 1990.
