Location Lighting

Former Detroit Free Press chief photographer J. Kyle Keener will lecture about his philosophy of location lighting, including the power of natural light and tips on when and why to add strobe light to a scene. Interested participants are encouraged to email jpg examples of some of their more challenging lighting situations to . The session will include a live analysis of your images and discussion of techniques to help solve the lighting issues. Keener will also talk about some of the pros and cons of the latest strobe equipment and describe how tout together a useful lighting kit, on a budget.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Chris Usher graduated from Indiana University at Bloomington with a degree in Journalism. Usher spent several years as a newspaper photographer, (Troy Daily News; Richmond Palladium Item; Louisville Courier Journal; Miami Herald; Orlando Sentinel ) before going freelance and moving to Washington, DC in 1990.
