Everybody loves a workshop, whether it’s for students or professionals. Students relish the opportunity to practice their craft, hear other viewpoints on their work and maybe show off to just the right contact. Professionals get to relive a bit of their youth, experimenting and learning in a new, low-pressure environment. But what does it take to organize and lead a workshop? In this session Mark E. Johnson, the only photojournalism professor at the University of Georgia and John Beale, senior lecturer at Penn State, will present ideas for planning and executing workshops for students and professionals, recruiting top coaches to work with attendees and finding the funding to make it happen.
