FCPX- It’s Not Your Parent’s Video Editor
Workshop Date: Saturday, March 10, 2012 - 1:30 PM
Workshop Speaker: Jason Reed
FCPX what is it? It can be a powerful and intuitive tool for creating compelling multimedia. Reuters photojournalist and multimedia producer Jason Reed describes it this way: "I think Final Cut X is the most integrated and easy to use software for photojournalists wanting to break into multimedia editing." In this workshop Reed will introduce us to FCP X, show off its hidden tools and demonstrate how to put a project together.
Born in Sydney, Australia, Jason Reed graduated with a degree in photography in 1991 and began his career at Reuters News Pictures as an photographer's assistant in his hometown. Following 13 years of experience living and working across Asia 1993-2002, Jason began a new chapter in 2003, covering the White House for Reuters where he has been ever since. In the past few years he began working in multimedia projects, earning the 2011 Edward R. Murrow award for online video news documentary for his first effort with “Souvenirs of War”, detailing the personal costs of military conflict, a collaboration with his colleague Larry Downing. Their latest multimedia project, “Ravens Rule the Skies”, was a year in the making and went behind the scenes inside the only stunt cheerleading team in the NFL. An iPad App of that project is currently in development.
