Time-Lapse: Between the Frozen Moment and Video
Workshop Date: Friday, March 09, 2012 - 3:15 PM
Workshop Speaker: Andrew Geraci
Time-lapse photography is in that murky place between the frozen moment of the still image and the real-life world of video. Andrew Geraci's work raises it to a new level. Geraci will showcase and share his knowledge of motion time-lapse photography.
From there, you will learn the ins and outs of story telling with time-lapse photography and how to create professional pieces of work, with just a camera and a tripod. Geraci will also go in depth on post-production techniques for motion time-lapse photography including; tone-mapping, editing, exportation and codec use.
Geraci is currently the lead multimedia producer for the Washington Times in Washington, DC. He has served nearly a decade in the U.S. Navy as a photographer's mate and attended the military motion media course at Syracuse University. His background includes photography, videography, broadcast journalism, motion HDR time-lapse photography, 3D animation, motion graphics, web/graphic design, and good old fashion storytelling.
